Day 11: Tarragona and Sitgues

Early this morning we took a small group excursion to the south of Barcelona to the beach towns of Tarragona and Sitgues. Tarragona was a Roman town for 600 years and there are a number of ruins there.

When we on top of a very high Roman tower, I got his shot of old town. Beautiful.

The whole town is lovely with a walkway for miles along the beach.

We then drove to Sitgues, which has lovely beaches and a small old town.

We ate lunch at a sea side bar right next to the water. There were kids taking sailing lessons. It was hilarious to watch. Here is one of the few times all four boats were upright.

On our last visit to Barcelona, there was a homemade pasta shop on our hotel street that we hadn't seen open on this trip so far. Today we found it again. Yay!

    1. It is amazing that so much is still around. Every place I've seen here with ruins--later generations love to tear down the "stuff" and use the cut stone blocks for their own purposes. GO ROMANS!
