Days 1-3: Flying to Madrid and Mallorca

We arrived in Mallorca yesterday afternoon after two flights to get to Madrid. It was an easy, but long trip.

Palma de Mallorca is a charming town. I had seen many photos of its famous cathedral, but was still awe struck by its beauty as we took a taxi from the airport to our hotel. It's ginormous!

Our hotel is on the outer edge of the old town. It sits right next to a canal that goes down to the sea.

The Hotel Saratoga is modest, but we have an amazing view from our balcony. It's also close to what seems like the main shopping district, so it's very convenient.

Today we wandered the city. The old town is quaint with lots of parks and beautiful buildings.

In the afternoon we spent a good deal of time at a bar across the pond from the cathedral just enjoying the view.

So far, Mallorca seems like a fine first stop on this trip. I've been able to use a little Spanish, but not much. Hasta mañana!
